From Earth to Earth, around the Moon,

HISTORY

A slightly crazy project, as is often the case with space travel, but above all a story of friendship.
Imagine a concept born of an evening in a Parisian mansion where an extraordinary woman lived two
hundred years ago. Four friends wanted to celebrate Fortunée Hamelin, a woman far ahead of her
time, but also the pioneering spirit that characterised the conquest of space. So how did they do it?

By organising the first “space race”:

From Earth to Earth, around the Moon, as fast as possible.

And so the Fortunée Trophy was born.

PROTOCOL

The concept of the race? “Simple, basic”, as one of France’s star rappers puts it.

You set off from the Earth towards the Moon, go around it (a nice course marker) and then back again.

The crew with the fastest time wins the Trophy!

The term “crew” is important: only manned flights piloted by humans are allowed to compete.

INSPIRATION

The Fortunée Trophy, with great modesty, follows in the footsteps of prestigious prizes and trophies.

First and foremost, let’s mention the Orteig Prize, a famous reward presented on May 22, 1919, by New York hotel owner Raymond Orteig. It was intended for the first Allied aviator(s) to fly non-stop from New York City to Paris or vice versa.

Much closer to us, in every sense of the term, the Trophée Jules Verne is a nautical challenge that rewards the fastest crewed sailing circumnavigation of the world.

These two trophies, among many other equally eminent ones, have been true sources of inspiration for our team. We salute them with great respect.

THE TROPHY

We want it to be beautiful, inspiring, and captivating, worthy of the challenge
faced by the crews holding the speed record on such a course.

A call for projects will soon be launched to identify the artist ready to take on the
challenge of creating the Fortunee Trophy.

Your applications are more than welcome.

WINNERS

The Fortunée Trophy already has its winners!

It’s extraordinary to think that several crews have already completed this route, “from Earth to Earth, around the Moon, as fast as possible”.
And, of course, one of them was faster than the others.

But who are the winners?

We’re thrilled to reveal their names and the place where we’ll be presenting them with their Trophy. But we ask for a little patience…
